"If you take him out of the game... you make [the Colts] a very below average ball club." Wow, that turned out to be really accurate.

jccollins4 Says:
I'll be surprised if he does that too. The Broncos dont have any real deep threats, so we will see how that goes. I would like to see him win one more ring before he retires but it all depends on how well they play as a team.

jccollins4 Says:
Yea believe me i'm a 49ers fan so that call pissed me off, but shit happens sometimes I wonder what the refs are looking at.

blackanimelover18 Says:
As I said, you can't go wrong with either of them. Brady still has 3 rings while Manning has 1, just like Manning still has higher numbers than Brady. Tom may not have won since 2004, but he's still gotten there twice more, and neither loss could be placed solely on him (Asante Samuel and Wes Welker come to mind). Like I said, personally I'd rather have Tom than Manning, but you can't say one is definitively better than the other.

someovertherainbable Says:
People say that "one has the stats other has the rings" But when Brady started getting the huge stats, like in 2007, he never won another super bowl and has choked in the playoffs. When Manning had a good, but not great statistical season, he wins a super bowl and goes to another. Manning had the stats because he didn't have a defense. Brady now gets the stats because he doesn't have a defense, but he hasn't won a super bowl in like 8 years.

I see, ya got me there. But that still shouldn't be a knock on Joe. If we're gonna do that, then let's try and see why Peyton didn't win MORE with the teams he had? If I remember correctly, he had the best pass rushing tandem of the era (both probably will be in the hall of fame soon) not to mention the best weapons (at the time) in the era. And what does he have to show for it? 1 ring...... Montana is still the greatest.

777zippy777 Says:
...and they shut down arguably the most prolific QB of all-time for one season (Marino in '84) in the super bowl and held that monster offense to just one TD pass and 3 FGs and became the first team EVER to go 18-1. Yeah, but that wasn't a great team.... LMFAO!!
May 26, 2012
777zippy777 Says:
Hold on there, big shooter. Montana's 49ers weren't great until Rice came to town? So the '84 49ers weren't great? Let's see... they went 15-1 (their only loss was by 3 points), they had the #1 scoring defense in the NFL (giving up just 14.2 ppg)... they had a top 5 offense in points, yards, passing AND rushing... they had FIVE pro bowlers on defense, including 2 CBs and 2 safetys... they also had TWO future HOFers on that defense...

777zippy777 Says:
But then again, one game was in a blizzard and he played less than 2 quarters in the 2nd game due to injury. I hate making excuses, but going 5.5 quarters without throwing a TD pass when 4 of those quarters were in blizzard conditions isn't exactly bad QB play. I'd say throwing for 312 in that blizzard and rushing for a big 4th quarter TD kind of makes up for the lack of any TD passes in 1.5 games. Manning fans always bring up the rain in SB 41... Just sayin'.

777zippy777 Says:
I'm with ya there. I've argued many times with idiot Brady fans- And I'm a huge Brady fan. I don't discriminate. Uneducated NFL fans annoy the shit out of me. But again, what can ya do? But anyway, I will say if Peyton leads Denver to 10 or more wins and wins a couple playoff games, I'll be blown away.
May 26, 2012
777zippy777 Says:
Oh PLAYOFFS, oh well, excuse me, I didn't think we were being so technical and specific. Yeah, the tuck rule should've been a fumble. It's a stupid rule. Oh well, what can ya do? Shit happens. I'm pretty sure every SB-winning team has benefited one way or another from bad calls. Example: The fumble by Ahmad Bradshaw at the end of the NFCCG vs the 49ers WAS a fumble. That "forward progress" call was bullshit too. That ref might as well have blown his whistle right after the ball was snapped.

777zippy777 Says:
Hey, all I'm saying is Montana got benched in a playoff game. If that shit ever happened to Brady, most Brady-haters would throw a frickin' party and deem him a worthless overrated QB. It's not about a #1 seed getting beat by a #6 seed, it's about the greatest clutch QB of all-time getting benched in a home playoff game. That's it. Don't have a cow about it, dude.
May 26, 2012
blackanimelover18 Says:
Deion Sanders wasn't there until 1994, when STEVE YOUNG was the QB. Again, Montana's team was pretty good, but not great until Jerry Rice came to town. That's the truth.
May 26, 2012
rsgrocerystore Says:
I'm not talking about jerry rice, what about deion sanders, and their amazing defense wow I hate how people like you instantly think jerry rice when it comes to the 49ers and montana being good. Montana was on the best team back in his time with and without jerry rice.
May 26, 2012
jccollins4 Says:
I apologize I meant to say that I hate all the Brady fans that no nothing and say Manning is garbage, that shit annoys me. I actually think Brady is a class act especially when it comes to talking about other players and when it comes to interviews.
May 26, 2012
jccollins4 Says:
Actually no Brady was 0 TDs and 1INT the only TD he threw was in the SB. If you read closely I said in the Playoffs I did not include the SB. The tuck rule was BULLSHIT and robbed the Raiders of going to the SB and of course Pat fans will cry and say it was all legal when no one knew jack shit about that rule before that game.
May 26, 2012
jccollins4 Says:
How does his starting record mean shit in getting benched he played bad everybody has bad games, who were they going to bring in Hoyer off the bench for Brady? Get out of here. The Jets were supposed to get spanked because all the Pats fans were talking about that 45-3 ass whopping the Pats gave the Jets and then the Jets out played the Pats and won its the same thing. Stop making excuses a #1 seed losing to a #6 seed is the same no matter how you look at it. Go troll somewhere else.

Bryan Zachary Says:
Peyton is the best. He'll make a great comeback this year!
May 26, 2012
777zippy777 Says:
The 49ers did have Young as a backup in that '87 playoff game vs the Vikings. But "supposed to be a great QB" didn't exactly enter into it. Montana was struggling badly in that one and he was benched for a QB who, at the time, was 5-17 as a starter and had thrown 21 TDs and 21 INTs with a career 53.3 comp% and a 71.1 passer rating. Sorry, bringing up that Jets playoff game won't save you on that one.
May 26, 2012
777zippy777 Says:
And actually, Brady threw 1 TD and 1 INT in the 2001 postseason. Not 0 and 1. Damn dude, the guy has it bad enough with those numbers without Manning fans ripping that TD pass away from him! :D And also, he did throw for 312 yards in a blizzard and score a rushing TD in his postseason debut. But of course that gets overlooked because of the tuck rule that Brady-haters always love to bring up.
May 26, 2012
777zippy777 Says:
Montana was more postseason clutch than Brady. So say Montana was a 10 on the postseason clutch factor scale, Brady would be about a 6 or 7. That makes Peyton about a 3 on that scale.
May 26, 2012
777zippy777 Says:
Without a doubt Montana is #1 and the most clutch QB of all-time and played in a much tougher era for QBs. Yes, Bledsoe did come in late in the first half when the Pats were up 7-3 and threw a TD pass to Patten to make it 14-3 at halftime. But Brady technically gets the "win" because he started. Just like Unitas in super bowl 5. But you never hear anyone say Earl Morrall really "won" SB 5. Unitas gets credit for 3 championships in his career. It is what it is.
May 26, 2012
777zippy777 Says:
It's all based on perceptions. People perceive Brady as this Montana-esque clutch QB, although that's actually starting to change because he hasn't won a SB in so long and has had a handful of not-so-good postseason games after setting such a high standard. You hate Brady? I don't even hate Peyton- he's easily top 3-5 all-time and actually has a great sense of humor. I just dislike some of his fans who think his shit doesn't stink.
May 26, 2012
blackanimelover18 Says:
You mean the pretty good team that won the first two super bowls or the GREAT team that won the other two? Because if I remember correctly, Tom Brady has a pretty good team right now and Peyton Manning had a pretty good team as well in the past. Jerry Rice wasn't ALWAYS there you know, and yet Montana still won.
May 26, 2012
jccollins4 Says:
Or how about when Brady played the Jets in 2010, and they were the #1 seed and Jets were #6 seed. The Pats had the MVP Brady and his 4 INTs all year and he couldnt make the passes that were needed to win the game. Of course Belichick isnt going to bench Brady, who does he have behind him? no one the Niners had Young who was supposed to be a great QB.
